One! One! One!

Where does the time go, when you're crawling around the world, fending off schemers and dreamers? I had my very first cupcake and it made all other food seem to move in slow motion.

Daddy: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADDY. Oh, to taste a cupcake for the first time.
You allowed Emma to open all your presents and claim them as her own. Such grace. There is a lot in store for this second year.

traveling baby

Good thing my parents got me a passport. Airport security is tight. They even made me take off my diaper. I got poop on conveyor belt and twelve officials surrounded me with wipes. I crawled all across our hotel room, which oddly was room 911. My dad got into trouble with the French people when he cut the line to get me some scrambled eggs and pancakes. Maybe when I grow up I'll be the American that bridge the gap of anger and pessimism between France and America. Maybe it is too much of a responsibility to take on at such a young age.

Daddy: Maddy charmed everyone at Club Med, even the French.

Red Spoons

I like red spoons. To grab, to hold to taste!

Daddy: Maddy lights up when she discovers new things. She is a joy, just like her sister Emma. I am getting used to having two wonderful lights in my life.

I am my own person

I never thought the day would come: I have my own blog! So far I have my sister's hand-me-down crib/clothes/toys, share a room and no one notices that I'm already speaking a second language. The life of the second born is like that of an international spy.

These are my passport photos, I'm going to the Dominican Republic to check out the marangae and mud baths.

Daddy says:
Madeleine Sophia Dermansky, I love you and dedicate this blog to your individual strength and fantastic life
